Window Shopping Wednesday: ShopBop Sale

I'm jumping the gun on this week's window shopping post because Shopbop Friends & Family is ON and it's too good to miss.  Below I rounded up a bunch of my current favorites.     I've been all about updating the basics in my wardrobe because I truly believe you have to have a solid foundation before you get too trendy.  With that said, I'm loving these scalloped flats (they remind me so much of the Chloe shoes I've been seeing everywhere) and if you're looking for more of a classic, these classic ballet flats are perfect.  This black skirt will be a key to a spring/summer/fall work look - I love a good pencil skirt but sometimes you need to mix it up a bit.  I love this eyelet skirt because the stripes add some whimsy and you can easily dress it up with a blouse/blazer for work, add a moto jacket and strappy sandals for a night out or dress it down with a basic white tee and denim jacket.  I'm also all about dresses lately and the print and skirt detail on this dress make it great for work, weekends in the park and rooftop nights.  And if you really want to splurge a little, this knotted white top would go great with black culottes during the workweek or black faux leather shorts or jeans for the weekend.  Oh and I really need to add a pair of simple black strap sandals to my wardrobe but don't want a 4" heel so these 3" guys will be the perfect addition. 

And sticking with the fitness theme I've been incorporating lately, I made sure to add some classic workout pieces to add to your wardrobe (love the mesh detail on the leggings and the wrap detail on the sports bra!).  Happy shopping and would love to hear if you scoop anything up!

Spring 2016 wardrobe prep is in FULL effect over here.  The days are slowly getting longer and the warmer weather is slowly creeping in and I cannot wait.  I'm so close to being done going through my closet purge - I've been going through all my stuff, trying to sell things, donating, etc. and it's taken forever because I can't seem to find the time to do everything I need to at once.  But I see the light at the end of the tunnel!  While I prep for new things, I wanted to share some things on my spring wishlist, including these to-die-for suede sandals and a new pair of boyfriend jeans (because what's better than a new pair of denim?  Only a few things):   [ps - simply click the "+" for all the deets!]

I can't tell you how often I look at sneakers while window shopping and I am constantly taking a screen shot of my favorites on instagram (because, you know, athleisure is so the rage right now).  Also I was super inspired by my roommate's recent purchase of this amazing pair of navy/red Nike high tops so I wanted to do a little round up on my current favorites.  The variety below shows just how crazy different my tastes have been!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Cozy Sweaters

Super excited about this post today because I've have sweaters on my mind so much lately that I couldn't help but do an entire post about them.  All I want to wear are warm, over-sized cozy sweaters (even though the weather isn't quite cold enough for that yet).     Another reason I'm excited about this post?  All of these sweaters are under $70 with most of them under $40.  Yes, I believe in quality over quantity but when I purged my wardrobe in the middle of summer and dumped a ton of the sweaters I barely wore last season, I've found myself seriously struggling to layer correctly with a lack of sweaters.  Hence the need for some cute, cheap and warm sweaters in my closet ASAP.  Most of the below (follow the links under the photo) are showing grey but I promise there are other colors!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Spring Refresh

February was cold.  So cold that it was one of the coldest in history since at least 1934.  Crazy right? Well all this chill has me dreaming of Spring and the good ole days when I could run around in a dress sans tights, with some strappy shoes.  And all the spring arrivals popping up aren't helping either!

Today I'm sharing my favorite Spring things I'm dreaming of to refresh my wardrobe.  I'm clearly digging neutrals, a softer pastel palette and some pops of pattern here and there - what are you eying for Spring?!

Window Shopping Wendesday: Necessary Clothing

This year one of my goals/resolutions was to practice quality versus quantity (mostly when it comes to my wardrobe).  I have to admit it's been a little tough but it's stores like Necessary Clothing that help the itch.  You know the one I'm talking about - where you really really want to try a new trend or pick up something quick and easy to update your look.  That's where stores like Forever 21, H&M and one of other favorites, Necessary Clothing come in.  I first discovered Necessary clothing on my trip to NYC just prior to moving here and I thoguht it was the greatest thing ever - it was a little different than Forever 21 and they only had them in NYC.  

Lucky for you, they've expanded to an e-commerce shop so you don't have to travel all the way here to go to the store.  Here's a little roundup of my current favorites from the site:

You guys.  It's definitely summer sale time and today I'm sharing all my favorites from Gap, Banana Republic and Piperlime.  I love me a good sale and these stores are definitely killing it.  Like up to 75% off at Gap right now.  I'm leaning toward a lot of basics at Gap and Banana Republic and Piperlime never fails me with cute and a little bit different pieces.

Window Shopping Wednesday: Summer Favorites

Unfortunately, we're diving head first in to summer in the city which only means on thing: cue the heat and humidity.  My summer uniform will pretty much consist of easy dresses for work (think minimal amounts of fabric against my skin) and shorts and even easier dresses for the weekends.  This crepe shift dress is perfect for work to weekend because the fabric is super light weight and the white slip dress is that "easier" dress I referred to for the weekends (it's a little too casual to try to pull off at work).  Oh and the jacket?  You just never know when you'll get caught in a rain storm.  Always.be.prepared.

And since I've been on a huge fitness kick getting back into marathon training, I couldn't leave out the workout gear.  These leggings are a perfect dri-fit material (because again, we must battle the heat and humidity here) and the kicks are a fresh white for summer.  Oh and a secret?  I have been all about the built in bra tank tops for barre and yoga classes (luckily I don't have to worry about containing the girls for these activities).  Again, minimal layers.

I definitely love a good sale and I really love when one of my favorite online stores has a good sale!  Run, don't walk to Shopbop right now because they're having an amazing sale.

My strategy for sale shopping?  Look for classic pieces to add to my wardrobe, that sale item from one of my favorite designers or that piece that just screams "me."  Peep my favorites below - what will you be picking up?!

I don't know why but I often forget about Anthropologie when I'm shopping.  They always have the most beautiful, feminine, whimsical pieces that can spice up any wardrobe.  

Lately I've been on the hunt for the perfect floral dress and while I was browsing Anthro's site this past weekend I stumbled across a ton of other beauties.  Let the sale stalking begin!

My birthday is right around the corner so I thought it only appropriate to do this week's Window Shopping Wednesday with some wishlist picks.  I think I've finally reached the age where when my mother asks me what I want for my birthday I groan a little.  Not htat I don't like presents, I just don't love putting together wishlists as much as I did when I was "younger" (I know, I know, I'm only turning 26, I'm not that old).  I've just definitely reached an age where if I want something, I'll just go buy it. 

So this year I decided to keep my birthday wishlist fairly simple: mostly sweaters and jewelry.  Too appropriate for this time of year!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Apartment Style-Storage

I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  Usually I feel like time has been dragging by but not this week.  Maybe because I've been in go mode since I hopped off the plane at 5:20 AM on Monday and went straight to work.

Either way, I'm still working on décor and furniture ideas for my new space (which I'm trying to get into by this weekend!).  This week I'm focused on storage or a nice bookcase.  I've been debating a standard 6 shelf white bookcase but once I started poking around I saw some pretty cool options!  I can't lie, I really really love this option but it's just way too far out of my price range.  Here are some others I'm considering:

Window Shopping Wednesday: Apartment Style-Desks

Time to go back to the Apartment Style posts!  I painted the new room last weekend and it went from the most awful tan color to a crisp, clean white!   It was only about a 5.5 hour process, NBD.  Trying to add some gold stripes to the large wall but it may be too ambitious so we will see.

This week I'm showing you some desks I'm considering for my new space - but I'm also thinking of just keeping it simple with a standard Parsons desk (they really are chic, aren't they?).  What do you think?

Window Shopping Wednesday: Metallics

Yesterday the East v. West style collab was all about metallic and today I wanted to share my favorite metallic pieces with you!  There's a lot of options out there right now, from full on metallic pieces (like the shorts and bag below) to pieces with just a touch of metallic (the shirt dress below) and also some subtle metallic pieces (lace dress to the left).  Do you have any metallic pieces in your wardrobe?  How have you styled them?
