The Right... Long White Tunic

Happy Monday friends - I hope you all had a great weekend!  I finally had a chance to breathe after traveling and having a crazy couple of weeks at work.

If you've been following me long enough you know I'm not one to hop on each and every trend that comes along so when I pulled the trigger on this white tunic I was partially unsure if I could pull it off.  I played it safe with black pants but I'm planning to remix it with shorts or a skirt soon because I ended up liking it more than I expected.

And apologies for having so few photos - I was dealing with this for the entire shoot haha:

The Right...Go-To May Outfit

Whiskey Ginger  //  Living After Midnite

Hi Friends - it's good to see you!  My sincerest apologies for being so absent on this little corner of the internet.  Yes, I'm still alive.  No, I haven't stopped blogging.  Things just got a little cray after my last post [in summary, I unexpectedly had to move out of my apartment, went off to NOLA for Jen's bachelorette party, work got a little crazy per usual and I've since been just trying to come up for air and get my life back together.  If you know me at all, I'm extremely type-A and having life out of sorts is not a good look for me and I don't deal with stress well.  So bare with me while I get back on track but the goal is to start posting regularly again!]

Now to the good stuff.  I can't tell you how many times (because I've definitely lost track) I've worn an iteration of this outfit this month.  This sleeveless trench has quickly become a spring wardrobe staple.  I love that I can literally wear it over anything and it makes me feel super polished and put together.  Be sure to check out Jackie and Taylor's go-to outfits as well!

The Right... Springtime Cape

IMG_9177

IMG_9160

I really truly hope that this is my last cool weather post.  I've officially been boycotting tights (even on barely 35/40 degree days) because I just can't with the cold weather anymore.  Sorry I'm not sorry for getting really "basic" right there.

On a positive note, I'm SO glad I pulled the trigger on this cape when I did and it was one of those times when it was fate for me to purchase it.  It will be in heavy rotation this season (AND next fall).

The Right... Oversized Bow Tie

Question of the day: what do you wear to an NBA game?  On a Friday?  Well my friends, keep it simple with black and white.  I wore this to the Knicks vs. Nets game a couple of weeks ago after doing some mayje research on what to wear to an NBA game.  We were headed to Barclay's Queen Bey's territory after all and I wanted to make sure I looked good.  Oh and it was also a double date (insert must.look.good. pressure here).  How do you think I did?

The Right...Go-To February Outfit

february
Whiskey Ginger  //  Living After Midnite

IMG_1627

February has definitely been a challenging month to dress for.  With the freezing temps I find myself just wanting to wear sweats and a fleece pullover at all times.  Oh and maybe a blanket.  Too bad these aren't acceptable for work but luckily I found something similar that's work appropriate.  Meet my wool joggers and turtleneck sweater combo.  I also would normally be wearing booties but the day we shot these it was particularly warm (read: 30 degrees) so I switched it up.  And hence the lighter jacket - I also get sick of being a marshmallow sometimes.  Is it summer yet?

The Right...Go-To January Outfit

I can't believe we're at the end of January already!!  I have a really great explanation for my radio silence this month and I promise I'll explain soon.  In the meantime, I'm really excited to share my (second post of 2015) January go-to outfit with you!  I found myself wearing knee high boots, a skirt and a sweater one too many times this month!  It fluctuated between freezing cold to a pretty mild (30*) day and back to freezing cold.  And as I'm writing this I'm in the process of riding out blizzard Juno.  I hope you all are having a great week and I can't believe we are almost done with the first month of 2015.  Crazy how time flies!

Gift Guide: Fitness Friday

Buon giorno from Milano!  I'm on the last leg of my journey and finally have a bit of time to wrap up this post.  I wanted it to go out last Friday but all the trip prep just made it too crazy.  It's weird not being immersed in all the Black Friday madness (although I saw Mango in the train station was having a Black Friday sale - maybe I should have stopped!!).  I can't wait to fill you in on my adventures over the next couple of weeks!

Until then, I'm super excited about today's gift guide because it's all about fitness and cold weather gear (so appropriate for working on being #weatherproof for all those early November Project mornings).  As you know fitness has become a much bigger part of my life these days (and I can't wait to get back to working out after all this French and Italian food).  I've included some things for outdoor workouts/running, the Gaiam reformer for working on the core indoors during the cold months and those awesome non-slip barre socks (that I should probably own by now...).  Would love to hear what you're scooping up for that fitness buff in your life!
Fitness Gift Guide
Under Armour Fleece Headband, Fitbit, Under Armour Gloves, Gap Long Sleeve Baselayer, Under Armour Gotta Have It Tote, Lululemon Water Bottle, Toe Sox Gripper Socks, Aveda Active Composition Analgesic (for sore muscles), Gaiam CorePlus Reformer

Gift Guide: Menswear Monday

Welcome to my first of 4 gift guides for 2014!  Today is all about that special guy in your life, whether it be a brother, boyfriend, husband, father, grandfather, cousin, GBF, guy friend (you get the drift...).  Last year I gifted my brother a watch for Christmas and in my opinion a watch is a pretty safe bet for a gift.  Since there are so many options out there (dressy, sporty, casual, etc.), it's easy to scoop one up for almost any guy on your list.  I'm really loving the new Victorinox Night Vision watches (if you caught my first post about the new brand here you can see why they're so great!) - and especially the green color option.  I don't know why but lately I've gravitated toward dark green as a new neutral.

I've also included a few other tech gadgets and clothing/accessory options.  I have to confess, I threw the camo tote in because one of my best guy friends has one and I'm completely obsessed with it (so much that I've thought about buying one for myself!).  My go-to retailers for men's gifts are Gap, Nordstrom (especially the under $100 section), Brookstone and Urban Outfitters (there's some amazing, quirky things on UO right now!).  Would love to hear what you're planning to scoop up and who you're shopping for!

Mens Giftguide
