Window Shopping Wednesday: Cozy Sweaters

Super excited about this post today because I've have sweaters on my mind so much lately that I couldn't help but do an entire post about them.  All I want to wear are warm, over-sized cozy sweaters (even though the weather isn't quite cold enough for that yet).

Another reason I'm excited about this post?  All of these sweaters are under $70 with most of them under $40.  Yes, I believe in quality over quantity but when I purged my wardrobe in the middle of summer and dumped a ton of the sweaters I barely wore last season, I've found myself seriously struggling to layer correctly with a lack of sweaters.  Hence the need for some cute, cheap and warm sweaters in my closet ASAP.  Most of the below (follow the links under the photo) are showing grey but I promise there are other colors!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Back to Basics

Sometimes you just need to go back to the basics and build your wardrobe from the ground up.  Lately I've realized I'm missing a couple of these basics or that they need to be replaced and upgraded a little.  I'm definitely missing a good skinny black dress pant and believe it or not I lost my grey cardigan a while ago which created a huge hole.  As we approach the fall months cardigans are definitely a key layering piece!  Oh and ballet flats are definitely a must - I've been really drawn to red lately and they create a great pop of color in an outfit!

And I think it may be time to upgrade my trench coat - I've had it for about 8 years now (crazy, I know!) - and it's definitely feeling a little smaller lately.

What's on your list for basics?  Have you discovered you're missing anything as of late?

Window Shopping Wednesday: Rodeo Style

I'm sure you can tell by the title of this post that I'm taking things in a little different direction today.  When you see this I'll likely be en route to my hometown of good ole' Reno Nevada for a little break from the big city.  It also just so happens to be Christmas in June Rodeo time so I'll be trading in my stilettos for some shit kickers boots.  In the spirit of this most wonderful time of year, I thought I'd share some Rodeo outfit inspo with you!

First up, a more "traditional" look with jeans and a blouse...

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7
But if jeans aren't your thing, feel free to throw on a dress and some boots.  Oh and if you want to get fancy?  Sure, I guess you can wear wedge booties if you really want to.  And don't forget a cross-body bag (because you really can't fuss with a big tote when you're swing dancing all night).

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram for all my adventures!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Mixing Prints

Lately I've been all about mixing prints.  I can get enough of the quirky combos I come up with - it always gives a fresh spin on an outfit.

Today I wanted to show you some outfits you'd likely see me sporting if I had all these pieces in my closet.  Tune in Friday to see how I mix prints with the rest of the #northvsouthstyle bloggers!

Which is your favorite combo?

Window Shopping Wednesday: Nude Pumps

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I'm talking about another wardrobe essential: nude pumps.  I think this is the biggest roundup I've ever done because I couldn't.stop.loving.these.pumps!  So many good ones out there right now!

The best part of nude pumps is that they elongate the legs and go with everything.  I especially love the look of the pointed-toe pumps but I know those aren't for everyone.  Come back Friday to see how I styled my pair!

Which are your favorites?!

Rainy Stripes

Can you believe today is FEBRUARY 1??!?!  I definitely can't!  Today I'm back on the stripes topic!  If you saw my post on Wednesday, I showed you some of my favorite striped skirts and since then I've been so excited to share this outfit with you!  The skirt I have on is verrrryy similar to one of the Nordstrom skirts from Wednesday and it's one of my favorites.  I got this skirt at J.Crew Factory last year and it's one of those things I haven't seen many like it since but thanks to Nordstrom you can scoop up a similar version!  I really love the shape of this skirt as well!
