Lime Green in Snow

Snowy day - check, puffy coat - check, wellies - check, a leather pencil skirt - errm..  Not exactly weather appropriate but for some reason I've reached for the leather pencil skirt/wellie combo on the two snowiest [work] days of the year so far (first offense here).  This time I switched the color to the top with my new uber cozy lime green Joe Fresh sweater.  Oh and check out the 'do!  It's about two inches shorter than I had wanted but the good thing about hair?  It grows :).  I'm really liking it so far!

What do you normally reach for on a snow day?

Have you entered my Enterprise Car Share giveaway yet?  You have til Sunday!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Umbrella Style

I think it's safe to say we've had too much a lot of rain in NYC lately.  Not gonna lie... I'm kind of over it!  I just want sunshine!  There's a little story with the theme of today's post.  I purchased my first umbrella in NYC when I moved here last August.  I remember being so upset that I spent $15 on it but it was a situation where if I didn't get an umbrella right then and there I'd either get caught in the rain or have to duck for shelter for who knows how long.  I managed to keep that umbrella until last week when I accidentally left it at a work HH.  Of course when I called the next day, they didn't have it.  Le sigh.  My faithful, trusty black umbrella was gone.  Then I realized, I could upgrade my umbrella situation!  Cue scouring the internet for cute umbrellas (see below).

I ended up buying a leopard print umbrella at TJ Maxx instead of ordering one but who knows, maybe when that one needs to be replaced I'll buy one of these guys:

Rainy Stripes

Can you believe today is FEBRUARY 1??!?!  I definitely can't!  Today I'm back on the stripes topic!  If you saw my post on Wednesday, I showed you some of my favorite striped skirts and since then I've been so excited to share this outfit with you!  The skirt I have on is verrrryy similar to one of the Nordstrom skirts from Wednesday and it's one of my favorites.  I got this skirt at J.Crew Factory last year and it's one of those things I haven't seen many like it since but thanks to Nordstrom you can scoop up a similar version!  I really love the shape of this skirt as well!
