The Right... Springtime Cape

I really truly hope that this is my last cool weather post.  I've officially been boycotting tights (even on barely 35/40 degree days) because I just can't with the cold weather anymore.  Sorry I'm not sorry for getting really "basic" right there.     On a positive note, I'm SO glad I pulled the trigger on this cape when I did and it was one of those times when it was fate for me to purchase it.  It will be in heavy rotation this season (AND next fall).

The Right... Slouchy Beanie

It's funny how I sometimes overlook the importance of basics in my wardrobe.  For example, before this winter I didn't really wear beanies much (I stuck with my fuzzy earmuffs instead) but I was browsing at Urban Outfitters one day and realized how much I needed a black slouchy beanie in my life.  So I bought one and I've worn it SO many times since.

Weekend brunches have easily become one of my favorite activities here in the city.  There are endless options and it doesn't help when you throw a little bloody mary or mimosa in the mix ;).

Work to Play: LuLu's Polka Dot Jumpsuit

Happy Friday!!!  We made it!  If you stopped by last Friday you saw how I styled my LuLu's jumpsuit for work and today I'm showing you how I styled it for brunch with Krista.  Since it's still freezing outside so I had to keep the furry snood and booties going.  I can't wait til I can wear this with sandals and bare shoulders!

Put a Cap on It

I'm usually not a hat person but this year I scooped up both a baseball cap and a felt hat and I have to admit, they're slowly growing on me!  I threw this on to meet up with Jen for a venture to City Bakery to check out their hot chocolate festival.  Apparently these leather leggings are my new go to for weekends because it's the second time I've busted them out in the last month.  Spoiler alert, I wore them again this past weekend. #sorryimnotsorry

Seeing Spots

I'm teaming up with LuLu's for my latest in the "work to play" series and today I've challenged myself to wear this polka dot jumper for work (and play, but that post is coming next week - stay tuned!).  I pulled this off for a Friday at the office because I'm not quite sure how it'd go over if I wore it to a client meeting or an event.  Who knows, maybe I'll work up the guts for that when the weather gets a little warmer!

I dressed it up with some wedges and a statement necklace but otherwise kept it simple and neutral because the pattern could be a bit much.  What would you pair with this?  Would you wear it to work?

Fierce Friday

You know, sometimes it's ok to wear pajama-like pants and a blouse to work on a Friday.  And sometimes it's ok if those pants are leopard print.  A little comfortable "fierce" Friday never hurt anyone... Right?

Stripes and Sunnies

I'm throwing it back a couple weeks with the outfit today (before the arctic tundra descended over the city...).  Sometimes it's nice to start with a solid black foundation and add some printed layers for the office.  I was totally twinning with one of my co-workers this day too (I swear we all spend too much time together because this happens more than you think!) - see the last pic for proof.

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Morning!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was definitely frigid and snowy (per usual).  I'm getting a little sick of the weather but I guess I was spoiled last winter because it was definitely a lot milder than this year.  Needless to say I was really excited to sport this fuzzy coat to keep warm!  It's a nice little change up from my parka.
