The Right... Blush Beauty

Even though we're slowly winding into fall I will go as long as I can without putting on tights.  We came close a couple of times this week but I really feel like once you take that step, you don't go back!  I snapped these a couple of weeks ago when it was still pretty warm and I have to admit, I did this whole dress/statement necklace/strappy pumps combo a bunch this summer.  It's just so easy, how can you not?  Especially when I work out a lot in the mornings now so I need something easy to throw on.

Trust me, I working on a similar combo for fall!  Also, I can't wait to pair this dress with boots to transition.  I am loving blush pieces right now, especially this Mango wool coat, this Hinge sweater, this Topshop romper and this pair of Sole Society pumps (and if I really wanted to splurge, this Cynthia Rowley dress).

The Right... Leather Shorts

I've been on the hunt for the perfect faux leather shorts for a while and when H&M decided to totally kill it with their fall collection, I saw these babies and knew I had to have them.  My old pair was very fitted and sometimes tough to wear so I am welcoming the upgrade.  And I can't wait to style them during this transitional weather.

The Right... Leopard Dress Remix

Happy Friday!  We made it!  Everything seemed to calm down from fashion week but pick right back up at the career job - funny how that works right?  I'm headed to Chicago today for a short weekend getaway with one of my besties - follow along on my instagram and twitter for all the action.  And if you haven't followed along yet, I'm taking over the Laqa & Co instagram until Sunday - head over there for more of my adventures!



Anyway, onto the good stuff.  When I bought this Ann Taylor dress I knew it'd quickly become a staple in my wardrobe so I decided to challenge myself to style it beyond just one outfit post (and let's be serious.. when these outfit photos were taken it was about a thousand degrees and humid beyond all belief so I wanted to do some transitional styling).

Well friends, it's been real, it's been fun and we're officially past summer and into the madness that (in my career world) is event season and with that it's also NYFW starting tomorrow.  That shit cray - I feel like it was just February.

The Right... Ruffle Top

The weather here has been pretty horrible (read: awesome but I don't want to jinx it) these last couple of weeks.  We've had a taste of fall over a couple of days and it made me want to pull out all my favorite fall clothes and start dressing cozier.  I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself so I'm easing into it with this outfit.  Also, I realized I haven't styled a basic white top/jeans combo in a while (it's easy to just be dressed up all the time if I'm not running around in workout gear!).

The Right... Red Strappy Pumps

Happy Monday!  Can we just quickly talk about where this summer went?  I know it isn't over yet but I recently had a reality check when I realized there's only a couple of weeks left of summer.  Crazy how time flies when you're having fun!  I'm still trying to squeeze in a couple more adventures before "shitshow September" hits.  One of my coworkers used this phrase last week and I died laughing because it's true - everyone comes back to the city right after Labor Day and it's go time until the holidays.

In the meantime, I definitely plan on running around in easy outfits like this one.

The Right... Fancy Maxi

Boy.  Last week was crazy busy.  Good news - it wasn't all work busy, I did fun stuff too!  I had the chance to attend the Edeyo Gives Hope Ball on Wednesday.  I typically only produce fundraising events and rarely have the chance to attend them so it was nice to relax and enjoy myself.  It such an amazing cause too, helping children in Haiti and the video they played (from the children) was definitely a tear jerker.  I'd love for you to check it out!

I seriously debated turning to Rent the Runway for a dress but instead decided to shop my own closet.  I settled on this black and white Parker number (you've seen it before here) and was so happy with  my choice.  It was super comfy and just the right amount of dressy.

Oh and hilarious story, Krista helped me snap these photos in Flatiron over the weekend and as I was changing out of my heels into flat sandals to run to the subway a man started screaming at me to put my heels back on because "they look so  much better."  This man literally quieted down the entire seating area outside the Flatiron building he was so loud.  Oh and he didn't stop either.  Definitely adding that to one of the most awkward moments taking blog pictures!

Stripes and Sunnies

I'm throwing it back a couple weeks with the outfit today (before the arctic tundra descended over the city...).  Sometimes it's nice to start with a solid black foundation and add some printed layers for the office.  I was totally twinning with one of my co-workers this day too (I swear we all spend too much time together because this happens more than you think!) - see the last pic for proof.
