The Right... Spring Shorts

Guys.  I don't know if you heard but, it's f*#$ing freezing in New York (sorry mom) and I'm pretty much over it.  I'm definitely kicking myself for not escaping to somewhere warmer this past weekend because I'm in definite need of some sunshine!  I found these photos from last Fashion Week and realized I never posted them.  Since we're right in the midst of a freezing Fashion Week, I felt they were super appropriate because this is what I'm dying to be wearing right now (instead of my puffer and layers on layers on more layers).   I also started pinning some things I'm adding to my spring wishlist (and stay tuned to my "currently coveting" tab for updates too!).  What are you dying to scoop up for spring?

The Right... Blush Beauty

Even though we're slowly winding into fall I will go as long as I can without putting on tights.  We came close a couple of times this week but I really feel like once you take that step, you don't go back!  I snapped these a couple of weeks ago when it was still pretty warm and I have to admit, I did this whole dress/statement necklace/strappy pumps combo a bunch this summer.  It's just so easy, how can you not?  Especially when I work out a lot in the mornings now so I need something easy to throw on.

Trust me, I working on a similar combo for fall!  Also, I can't wait to pair this dress with boots to transition.  I am loving blush pieces right now, especially this Mango wool coat, this Hinge sweater, this Topshop romper and this pair of Sole Society pumps (and if I really wanted to splurge, this Cynthia Rowley dress).

Well friends, it's been real, it's been fun and we're officially past summer and into the madness that (in my career world) is event season and with that it's also NYFW starting tomorrow.  That shit cray - I feel like it was just February.

The Right... Spotted Dress

Back in June I had the opportunity to meet some amazing fashion designers - Lizzie and Darlene of William Okpo - and learn about the inspiration behind their upcoming collection.  I had actually covered one of their shows during one of my first NYFW's in the city (whilst interning for StyleSight) and it was really cool to talk to them about how everything came full circle and I was meeting them again.

It was also fun because it gave me a chance to test the waters with my boss and wear these shoes to a (sort of) work function and needless to say, she loved them. #win

The Right... Matching Set

Happy Monday guys!  I'm going to keep it short and sweet today.  I had a little too much fun at Jen's birthday shindig and didn't have much left in my when it came to today's post.  Somehow these summer weekends take everything out of me - I guess that's what happens when you're having fun! 

I bought these two pieces from the Phillip Lim x Target collab and have worn them separate but decided to throw them together one day and I really liked the way the look came out.  I usually like to match (at least a portion of my outfit) but I've never worn a full on suit or matching set before.  So here we are!  Have you worn a matching set?  What are your thoughts?

The Right... Leopard Pencil Skirt: Work Edition

  

 
I've been on the hunt for the right leopard pencil skirt for quite some time now.  Leopard is really one of those touchy prints that can either be really great or really bad (and I'm definitely one to get SUPER picky when it comes to prints so you can imagine how much more difficult tracking down the right one was for me).  Leave it to Club Monaco to have the perfect print that is great for summer and will go great with darker colors come winter!  Oh and right now it's an extra 50% off - what are you waiting for?

The Right... Shift Dress

I typically struggle with shift dresses because my hips can tend to be a little tooooo large for the shape but when I saw this super affordable, amazing pink shift dress at Nordstrom I knew I had to give it a shot.  I read the reviews and almost ordered a size up but luckily it wasn't available so I purchased in my actual size and as fate would have it, it fit!!  I was so excited!!  It's so lightweight and perfect for summer - dressing it up for the office or down for weekends.

Also, how amazing is this wall?  It's actually an art installation out on the west side highway full of artists names.  Leave it to Krista to find an awesome backdrop for us!

The Right... Edgy Lace

 

Nothing like an edgy twist to a classic lace shift, right?  You know I like to push the limit and this dress/gladiator boot combo definitely helps me do just that! 

Throw a blazer on and I'm ready for work!  Well sort of.  I'm not sure how receptive the commercial real estate industry will be to my gladiator boots :).

The Right... Summer Stripes
