Window Shopping Wednesday: Fall Peep Toe Booties

I have a confession: today's post started out as a "fall lust list" but quickly morphed into a round up of all my favorite peep toe booties when I couldn't decide on just one bootie to feature in said "lust list."  #sorrynotsorry

So when I quickly tumbled down the rabbit hole at two of my favorite shoe retailers (DSW and Nordstrom)  I decided to share the results with you.  I think there's a little something for everyone in this post: fringe, suede, perforated leather, sleek leather, buckles, zippers...  Literally something for everyone.

And the most important question: which pair is your favorite?!

The Right... Weekend at the Races

IMG_5273

Happy Monday friends!!  Yes, I realize we're still in the middle of fashion week but I'm taking us back to Labor Day Weekend with this post.  I was invited (along with a bunch of other NYC bloggers) to the Saratoga Race Track for a full day at the races with Americas Best Racing.  I'm sure you remember my post from the Belmont Stakes last year so you can imagine my excitement when I was invited on this trip!  I was also super excited to get a little dressed up and wear my new (and first) Lilly dress (huge thanks to Krista for helping me snag this beauty during their sale!).

Oh and a little housekeeping item, I'm taking over the Laqa & Co instagram this week so make sure you follow along!

A huge thank you to America's best racing for such a fun day!  America's Best Racing is a horse racing fan development launched by the Jockey Club in 2013. In less than two years, ABR has been responsible for driving thousands of new fans to the races, including high-level influencers, celebrities, athletes, writers and bloggers. With an emphasis on the fun, food and fashion of a day at the races, combined with excitement and tradition of the sport of horse racing, ABR has emphatically demonstrated that the sport is back, and better than ever.

Window Shopping Wednesday: The Gladiator Boot

I'm a huge sucker for a great strappy sandal - particularly a great gladiator sandal.  I'm usually a "traditional" flat gladiator sandal lover (as shown here and here) but when I saw Rachel of Pink Peonies sporting this gold Stuart Weitzman pair I got to thinking I may be able to pull of a more statement pair of gladiators.  I finally broke down and purchased this ah-mazing Vince Camuto pair (as styled here) and I am OB.SESSED.  I never want to take these off!  Well, I have to because I'm not quite ready to rock them to the office and considering the current rain situation, they will just have to wait until summer gets closer.  Le sigh.

In the meantime, here are some of my favorite splurge and steal gladiators:

Window Shopping Wednesday: Metallics

Five days until Google Reader goes away - follow TheRightShoes on Bloglovin now

Yesterday the East v. West style collab was all about metallic and today I wanted to share my favorite metallic pieces with you!  There's a lot of options out there right now, from full on metallic pieces (like the shorts and bag below) to pieces with just a touch of metallic (the shirt dress below) and also some subtle metallic pieces (lace dress to the left).  Do you have any metallic pieces in your wardrobe?  How have you styled them?

Window Shopping Wednesday: Black & White Faves

In case you haven't heard, one of the major trends this spring is the black/white combo.  It's literally everywhere!  From subtle patterns to bold stripes to color blocked accessories there are options for everyone out there.  Try a full black & white patterned dress or pick up a chevron clutch for a pop of the trend.

Get excited for Friday's post - I'll be kicking off a really great collaboration and you can see how I style the black/white trend!  A little hint for you: some other lovely ladies are helping me show off this Spring trend ;).

In the meantime, here are some of my favorites!

Window Shopping Wed: Spring Booties

Check out a few of my favorite booties for Spring!  I'm loving the light colors, the heel cut-outs, and details like perforation and weaving.  Booties are great with skirts, shorts and dresses which make them so great for Spring.  For those crisp mornings they keep your toes warm while allowing you to show a little leg and get in the spirit of the season!  Tune in Friday to see how I styled my booties a couple weeks ago for "spring" [when it snowed... #whomp].

No Parking Anytime

Oh heyyy again!  Look who has more time for blogging at the moment - that's right, me!  Also I've decided I need to stop stockpiling these pictures I have and share the goods with you!  Let's not talk about how many outfit photos I have to post from the last couple of weeks month...

First order of business today - I need your help!  I have the chance to go to St. Louis for their Fashion Week next month and get VIP treatment!  All you have to do is like/comment on their Facebook page or tweet to them (@alivemagstl, using #stlfw) and tell them I should go!  I really appreciate anything you do to help :).

And on to the outfit!  This garage door is on my block and I walk by it every day and I absolutely love the artwork!  I've been dying to take photos in front of it for a while and you'll probably see more in the future.

Window Shopping Wednesday: Nude Pumps

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I'm talking about another wardrobe essential: nude pumps.  I think this is the biggest roundup I've ever done because I couldn't.stop.loving.these.pumps!  So many good ones out there right now!

The best part of nude pumps is that they elongate the legs and go with everything.  I especially love the look of the pointed-toe pumps but I know those aren't for everyone.  Come back Friday to see how I styled my pair!

Which are your favorites?!

Holiday Party Attire Pt. 5

Welcome to my last holiday party attire post!  We made it!  I've covered everything from office parties to cocktail parties to general holiday attire I love.  I decided to go out with a bang and focus solely on the holiday dresses I am loving right now because honestly, a lot of the times me default article of clothing is a dress.  It's so easy to accessorize (or not in the case of some of these) and I always feel very comfy in my dresses.  Other than the shoes I didn't add accessories to this post because I feel like most of these dress/shoe combos make a pretty bold statement.  But play it up as much as you like!

I hope you've enjoyed this series and I'd love to hear what you've worn to your holiday parties!

Birthday Lace

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and especially wonderful Thanksgiving (for those that celebrate).  You may have seen my lace/gingham combo on Instagram last Thursday for Thanksgiving/my Birthday.  I bought this dress a couple weeks ago after drooling over it for so long.  I figured I would wear it for a holiday party if the occasion arose but I decided to wear it on my birthday/Thanksgiving instead!  I had to dress it down a bit but I could definitely dress it up with heels and a blazer.  Do you have an article of clothing that can be dressed up or down?

Window Shopping Wednesdays: Loungwear

For some reason lately I've been dreaming (pun intended) of expanding my loungewear/sleepwear "collection."  Right now it consists mostly of two pairs of pj bottoms and whatever shirt I decide to throw on.  I would love to have more sophisticated loungewear because I think it would make hanging out at my apartment on Friday nights so much better.  For the record, the main reason I hang out at home on Friday nights is because I currently can't afford to love NY to it's fullest potential and I'm usually exhausted by then anyway!!  Also, I've come to the conclusion that I'm kind of a homebody and I'm ok with it.

I especially love the J.Crew Saturday pants (first below) because I feel like I might be able to get away with wearing them to grab my usual weeekend coffee or run to the grocery store.

What do you love to lounge around in?
