Work to Weekend w/David Bromstad for Naturalizer

You guys.  I have very exciting news - this is one of the top pinch me moments and highlights since starting this little blog...

Tomorrow I get to host the Q&A with David Bromstad on Naturalizer's Google+ page to talk about his new fall collection!  I am beyond excited for this opportunity and the best part is, my readers get the first opportunity to ask him questions!  Leave them in the comments below, tweet them at me, DM me, etc. and I'll get to ask him for you!

And on that note, I hope you'll tune into the Google+ Hangout sesh and watch the interview - it's going live at 2:30 PM EST and here's the link: http://ow.ly/BH2nX.  If you tweet me be sure to use #Bromstad4Naturalizer.

Now for the best part - I'm showing you how I style my favorite pair from the collection for work and for weekend!  Can't wait to show you the outfit IRL (I have been traveling like a crazy person and will get the pics up soon!)

The Right... Leather Peplum

I feel like a bit of a broken record here but lately I've been really pushing the envelope with my work attire (and really any outfit I've been wearing) and this leather peplum at the office was no exception.  That's the beauty of living in New York City - you can experiment all you want and never feel out of place.

I scored this leather peplum on major sale after the holidays on Piperlime and I've been looking for a good reason to style it for the office.  I think that whole not wanting to "waste an outfit" thing came into play so when I had a full day of meetings and two events I decided to pull it out and go for it.  I realize my go-to for work is to just throw a blazer on it, but I really think this is the best way to make a lot of things work.

So here it is, a simple yet chic leather peplum styled for work:

Window Shopping Wednesday: Floral Favorites

Florals are everywhere right now!  I'm a happy camper because I love a good floral print .  You can easily spice up an outfit by pairing a floral piece paired with some solid/basic pieces.  I'm sure you could tell I'm loving florals right now because you've seen my floral pants on the blog twice already... Sorry I'm not sorry ;).  Floral accessories such as necklaces and handbags also give you an option of adding the floral trend to your look without too much commitment.

Check out some of my favorite floral pieces below and tune in Friday to see how the North v. South girls style their florals!

Window Shopping Wednesday: Springtime Totes

Happy hump day!  Are you ready for all my St. Louis Fashion Week posts?  Tomorrow is the first one so get excited!  I have so many good things to share.

Today I wanted to talk about springtime totes though.  I bought a bright pink tote about a month ago and I'm obsessed with it.  You'll have to tune in Friday to see it/see how I styled it!  A bright tote is the perfect way to add a pop of color to any outfit and the size allows you to carry a lot of things around.

Which is your favorite?

Window Shopping Wednesday: White Blouses

One of the basic necessities of every girls wardrobe should be a good white blouse.  I strongly feel that you should own a crisp cotton white blouse as well as a flowy silk (or polyester/rayon) white blouse.  Each can be worn multiple different ways to maximize pieces in your wardrobe.  Today, I'm focusing on the flowy white blouse.  Come back Friday to see a way I style my white blouse!

These are labeled "everyday" because they are an affordable option for a white blouse. The prices are a little lower and one is made of polyester (left). By staying away from silk you can avoid dry cleaning costs which can defeat the purpose of adding a budget-conscious piece like this to your wardrobe.

I love the embellishments on these blouses! From the black detailing in the middle to the collars on the other two they add a little quirk to an outfit.

And of course we can't forget our classic investment pieces. These are a bit more expensive and require dry cleaning so keep that in mind.

Holiday Party Attire Pt. 3

Today I wanted to focus on the statement (or "crazy" as I usually refer to them) pants for a holiday look.  The top on the right paired with this pant makes a pretty bold, yet dressy statement and of course the red/green combo plays up the classic Christmas color combo.  I love the bracelet to bring out the silver sparkle in the blouse.  The top on the left on the other hand, creates a bit more relaxed look (that could even work for an office party!).  I like the statement necklace to draw your attention to the tuxedo detailing on the shirt.

Pants: J.Crew (this version is sold out but a similar pair is available at ASOS), Shoes: Michael Kors

Right: Blouse: Urban Outfitters, Clutch: Banana Republic, Bracelet: Tinley Road

Fall Transition Wishlist

I've been meaning to do this post for weeks now!!  This wishlist barely scratches the surface of all the things I want for fall!  But we must not go overboard here.  So simply stated, I'm craving dresses to layer with tights and boots that can be dressed up or down, a couple new jackets, cozy sweaters (per usual for cold weather!), booties, burgundy pants and faux leather pants.  These are great transition pieces as they are not too heavy and provide a little more coverage but can also be mixed with summer pieces now and with winter pieces in a couple months.

What are you craving for fall?  Would love to hear!
