The Right... Fall Riding Boots

Ok, it's official.  I've finally surfaced from my big work event, marathon cloud and am finally feeling human again.  And kind of with it.  But only kinda.  Because now I can finally get excited about my next big adventure: E-U-R-O-P-E!!!!!!!!  I've kept the trip a little hush by accident because I've just been so busy with everything else I couldn't really focus on it.  But I head off to Paris, Florence and Milan next Thursday and I'll be gone for 9 days!  Any suggestions are welcome, I'm working on finalizing my lists now!

In today's post I wanted to share two of my latest can't live without items for fall: the perfect wide-calf riding boots and this blanket scarf.  First the boots - I know I've preached to you about how wide my calves are but it really was getting to be an issue when finding boots.  Then during all the David Bromstad for Naturalizer excitement, I was browsing the site and realized they offer wide calf in almost all of their boots.  When I had the chance to test drive them, I instantly fell in love.  The leather is gorgeous, they are beyond comfortable and they fit amazing (you can't really tell they are wide calf unlike some other wide calf boots I've found).  Second, this blanket scarf.  I stumbled upon this poncho/scarf at Uniqlo when searching for some ultra light weight down for morning workouts (blue vest pictured) and for a mere $20, I found the one thing I literally can't stop wearing.  At the office, on the weekends, at home.  Everywhere.  It's so soft and cozy and extremely versatile.  There's a good possibility both will make it into my suitcase for Europe...

Work to Weekend w/David Bromstad for Naturalizer

You guys.  I have very exciting news - this is one of the top pinch me moments and highlights since starting this little blog...

Tomorrow I get to host the Q&A with David Bromstad on Naturalizer's Google+ page to talk about his new fall collection!  I am beyond excited for this opportunity and the best part is, my readers get the first opportunity to ask him questions!  Leave them in the comments below, tweet them at me, DM me, etc. and I'll get to ask him for you!

And on that note, I hope you'll tune into the Google+ Hangout sesh and watch the interview - it's going live at 2:30 PM EST and here's the link: http://ow.ly/BH2nX.  If you tweet me be sure to use #Bromstad4Naturalizer.

Now for the best part - I'm showing you how I style my favorite pair from the collection for work and for weekend!  Can't wait to show you the outfit IRL (I have been traveling like a crazy person and will get the pics up soon!)

The Week: Fashion, Food and Fitness

This last week I...

Hit the gym 4 times!  I'm finally getting back into a routine and it feels great.  Now I just need to actually use that kickboxing class I purchased on Groupon....

Had an impromptu brunch and shopping sesh with Jen and Krista last Saturday when our photo sesh got completely rained out.  Krista and I ventured to the UWS (like wayyyyyy UWS) to get supplies at Michael's for the DIY I posted about last weekend.  I ended up with a new friend for my dresser, a super cute pair of shoes from TJ Maxx (coming to the blog next week!) and some hot pink striped straws.  Because everyone needs hot pink striped straws.  Right?  Right.

Could not stop drooling over this Halston Heritage dress.  And as fate would have it the day after I tried it on for size to stalk until it went on sale, it went on sale for 40% off.  After working my "shopping math" wizard magic, I scored it for more than 50% off.  Now that's a great feeling.

Found out I'm running the NYC marathon!!!!!  What?!  Time to start training!  Well, not seriously til August...

Started up with #StyleMeApril!  It's been about 2 years since I first participated and it was super helpful with my outifts last week!  Want to learn more?  Head to Hilary Rushford's blog for all the deets.

Guest posted for Sarah as she makes a big move back to our hometown!  Check out the post here.

Met David Bromstad at the David Bromstad x Naturalizer press event!  I love David and was SO excited to meet him and see his collection - it truly was inspiring.  More on deets that later!

I picked up some coral nail polish for the first time ever!  One of my besties raved about Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant so I thought I'd give it a shot and try a new hue!

Made this amazing chicken/bacon/broccoli/rice dish - it was SO easy and a fun little treat for dinner each night.

Also, I'm gearing up for the Peter Som x Kohl's launch next week - have you seen it?  Seriously great pieces - check them all out here.  What are you eyeing?!  I am having a hard time narrowing down my choices...  That could be a problem.

May have done some post HH shopping with the Piperlime 25% off sale - they have some really great stuff right now!  Hurry, the sale ends tomorrow!

I'm also still planning to stop by the United Nude sample sale next week - if you're in the area be sure to check it out!

Whew - that was a full week wasn't it?  What did you do this week?
