East vs. West: Jewel Tones

 

  We're baaaaack!!!!!!  It's time for a fresh round of East vs. West outfits!  I'm so excited to be back together with these ladies as we bring you a weekly trend styled six ways for the next 5 weeks.  Be sure to check out everyone's looks (links under the group pic) and I can't wait to hear which is your favorite!
Today is all about the jewel tones because they are huge for fall.  I have been falling hard for burgundy and gold (which is pretty clear in my outfit choice) but navy, emerald, red and purple are also great options.  I layered a skirt over a dress and threw on some booties.  It was still a little hot for any tights or a jacket but when it cools down I will definitely be throwing on a faux leather jacket to complete the look.

East v. West Style: Neons

One of my favorite parts about blogging is trying new things and challenging myself to style unexpected items.  I would normally never run around in a neon orange romper but when the challenge arises it makes for a fun style sesh!  In case you haven't caught it yet, this week's East v. West spring style trend is "neons" aka the brightest items you can add to your wardrobe!  I took my orange romper down a few notches by keeping the rest of the palette neutral. Had a bit of a hard time getting back to real life after mine and Krista's escape to Hilton Head last weekend!  Check out the cutest video she made here.

Didn't make it to the gym at all (still giving my back a rest and fighting insomnia) but am getting back to it next week starting with the Tone It Up girls and their focus on National Nutrition Month (for March) - head here for some more details.

Succumbed to some Gilt splurges!  What started as the roomie notifying me of the J Brand sale ended in purchasing a mint jersey dress and a white tweed jacket.  More spring tweed favorites here and here.

Started prepping for another round of the East v. West Style series!  First post launches on the 18th so stay tuned!

I can't imagine a more fun holiday party than a little gift exchange and soiree with all my girlfriends.  Call me anti-boy if you want but I guess I just have more fun with my girls sometimes!  Given the freezing temps in NYC right now I'd definitely opt for a jacket/pant combo for a party and night out, and what better thing to reach for than some embellished clothes?

I am so in love with this dress - it's fairly simple but the jeweled sleeves make it perfect for a holiday party.  With such a statement detail it's definitely best to keep accessories simple so you don't over do it.

East v. West Style: Chunky Knits

I can't believe the fall version of East v. West style collab is over today!  It's been such a blast styling some of the top trends with these lovely ladies.  Today is all about chunky knits.  I decided to keep it pretty simple because I love the simplicity of fall and wanted to translate it to my outfit.  There's nothing like throwing on a large sweater and getting cozy.  What would you pair with this sweater?  I think it'll be jeans and booties next.

East v. West Style: Booties

I can't believe we are already in week three of this amazing fall collab!!  This week we are styling our new Sole Society booties!  I think last year was the first year I really got into the ankle bootie trend with my black booties.  They are the perfect fall wardrobe addition and I highly recommend this pair.  They passed the NYC full day comfort test with flying colors!  Trust me, I tell you I can trek around in a pair of heels all day in NYC they truly are comfortable.
