New Year's Eve is right around the corner and I couldn't be more excited.  I'll be back in the city for the second year and I'm looking forward to ringing in the new year with close friends.  I've strayed away from the super fancy parties the last couple of years because I feel like they always get this hype and then don't live up to it.  I'd much rather keep it low-key.   I'm really looking forward to 2015 - I feel like 2014 was quite the year and can't wait to share a post of reflections next week.     I'd love to hear what you're wearing for NYE and be sure to check out my East vs. West babe's outfits as well!

East vs. West: Fall Boots

 Boots and booties are one of those quintessential fall trends that make me super happy - I can expect to be living in boots until winter is over.  Oh and this sweater?  Yes, I'm wearing it in yet another blog post - sorry but it's just too good.  Jackie and I took these photos when I was bumming around Westchester with her for a quick city escape and Octoberfest the other weekend.  How good is this backdrop?  I promise it's real ;).    I love how everyone styled their boots this week!!  Make sure you check them out!

East vs. West: Oversized Knits

Next to leather I think my favorite trend for this series is this week's oversized knits.  There's something super comforting about throwing on what feels like a blanket and heading to work, brunch or out on the town.  Today's look could definitely be worn in the office or out to brunch (and for work I may even switch out the tee for a blouse and add some heels), but for a night out I'd probably throw on some faux leather leggings, heels and add some spice with a statement necklace.  Oh and my apologies in advanced, you're going to see this sweater a lot in the coming months #sorrynotsorry.   Make sure you check out everyone's looks and if you missed yesterday's post be sure to check it out to enter to win a $75 Sole Society credit!

East vs. West: Jewel Tones

 

  We're baaaaack!!!!!!  It's time for a fresh round of East vs. West outfits!  I'm so excited to be back together with these ladies as we bring you a weekly trend styled six ways for the next 5 weeks.  Be sure to check out everyone's looks (links under the group pic) and I can't wait to hear which is your favorite!
Today is all about the jewel tones because they are huge for fall.  I have been falling hard for burgundy and gold (which is pretty clear in my outfit choice) but navy, emerald, red and purple are also great options.  I layered a skirt over a dress and threw on some booties.  It was still a little hot for any tights or a jacket but when it cools down I will definitely be throwing on a faux leather jacket to complete the look.
