The Right... Gold Party Skirt

IMG_9324

You definitely saw this skirt during the fall East vs. West collab and now it's back.  When I first tried it on I wondered when I would wear it and it's definitely been a go to for parties this fall/holiday season!  In fact I'm wearing a winterized version to a party tonight (I just added tights and I'm ready to go!).  I'm slowly losing track of how many holiday parties and festivities I've been partaking in - we're on the home stretch though.  And I leave for a weekend in SF and then a week at home next Friday.  I cannot.wait.

East vs. West: Fall Beauty

IMG_9239

I have to admit, I was never really a beauty project junkie, and definitely rarely explored outside of my typical light shimmery shadow, black liner and mascara combo until I moved to NYC.  I definitely had an affinity toward constantly painting my nails before I moved here but wearing lipstick or even caring about my eye brows one slightest bit?  It was never a thought.  And then I moved here, met Jen, loved her lip colors and decided to start dabbling.  And then I met Jackie and continued to dabble but secretly obsessed over how amazing her makeup always looked (or should I say looks all.the.time.).  Then, Krista hosted this awesome makeup party before the rS party during NYFW and the MUA used a sort of eyebrow mascara and I was hooked.

When we had the chance to work with Laqa & Co I was ecstatic because that just meant more lip colors and polishes to play with.  Their lip pencils are seriously awesome (my favorites are the Menatour sheer lip lube pencil and the Wolfman Fat Lip Pencil).  I'm wearing Plonk nail polish in this post.  Be sure to check out everyone's beauty looks with the links below!

East vs. West: Oversized Knits

Next to leather I think my favorite trend for this series is this week's oversized knits.  There's something super comforting about throwing on what feels like a blanket and heading to work, brunch or out on the town.  Today's look could definitely be worn in the office or out to brunch (and for work I may even switch out the tee for a blouse and add some heels), but for a night out I'd probably throw on some faux leather leggings, heels and add some spice with a statement necklace.  Oh and my apologies in advanced, you're going to see this sweater a lot in the coming months #sorrynotsorry.

Make sure you check out everyone's looks and if you missed yesterday's post be sure to check it out to enter to win a $75 Sole Society credit!

East vs. West Style: Leather

IMG_5766

IMG_5753

One of my favorite things about fall and transition dressing is breaking out the leather jacket and layering it with everything.  It's easy to make it office appropriate or to dress it down for the weekends.  I was excited to mix it with one of my favorite colors and spice it up with some leopard.  Which btw, these leopard wedges from Sole Society are to die for.  They are the perfect height to be super comfy and also give the legs a little boost (I had to size up a half size because my normal was a little too tight with the pointy toe).

Thanks so much to Tracy for having me today! I don't know about you guys but I'm officially starting to get a little excited about fall! Even though it's still pretty warm in Tennessee I've been reaching for my fall colors in lightweight fabrics to start to make the summer to fall transition. This breezy Old Navy shirt dress was on constant repeat this summer (with bright accessories) but is the perfect piece to transition to fall with camo, darker accessories and a darker lip. How are you starting to transition your summer to fall wardrobe?
