STLFW: The Tour

During this trip to STL we finally had a chance to do some sight seeing!  The last trip was so quick and jam packed that we didn't even get to see the arch so when Muzio app and the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission put together a tour for us you can guarantee I was a little giddy.

In My Bag: Travel Edition

I'm still prepping all my St. Louis Fashion Week posts so in the meantime I thought I'd do a "what's in my bag" post.  When I travel I make sure I have the basics I carry around on the daily and also add some travel essentials: snacks, reading material and a blanket in case the plane is cold.  I know, you're probably thinking I'm crazy for toting around a blanket in my bag but hear me out on this one.  I randomly kept the blanket from a past United flight and discovered it folds down pretty compactly making it perfect for those times it's a little too chilly on the plane.

Other daily essentials I tote around: business cards, lip stain, lip balm, sunglasses and wallet.  Throw in a bottle of water and you're all ready to jet set.

What do you keep in your bag when you travel?  Anything I'm missing?

#STLFW: Treasures from Shoping Local

I'm almost done with my St. Louis Fashion Week posts!  Not that I want it to end but it's been almost a month now (crazy how time flies!).  There were soo many good things I wanted to share with you guys and then I had the lovely collaboration start, so thank you for baring with me while I slowly release them all.

A couple of the local boutiques, Blue Bird Apparel and Clr-Mnstr hosted Fashion Week parties the first night we were in St. Louis.  I picked up the skirt in the outfit below at Clr-Mnstr (along with my wishbone ring, as seen herehere and here).  I'm a little obsessed to say the least..!) and the t-shirt was gifted to us at the dinner with Canopi and Hazel2Blue.  I was so excited when I saw the color of this shirt because I knew exactly what I would pair it with from the trip!

#STLFW: Getting Techy with Canopi & Bonfyre

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I wanted to pop by and tell you about some great new techy things I learned about during St. Louis Fashion Week!

First up is Canopi.  We all know Google Reader is dying (le sigh...) and this lovely site is popping up just in time!  Canopi takes the work out of finding great blogs so you can get to discovering, reading and sharing the content you love. Think of it as Spotify, but for blogs. You create "blog lists" and can share your lists with other people. So say you are very good at reading fashion blogs but you're best friend has a great list of interior design blogs, you can share the lists and get inspired.

Even though you don't have to be a blogger to sign up, it's great way for bloggers to get discovered.  As a blogger when you sign up with Canopi your blog posts feed directly into the site allowing readers to get all the content on the single site.  Also, even though it feeds all your content from your blog to their site you don't have to worry about SEO issues. On the back-end they have told Google that it is not a duplicate post (don't ask me how, it's probably pretty technical and mind blowing programming stuff that I don't understand).
I encourage you to check out their website, tell your friends, make some lists and sharing!

I also wanted to tell you about Bonfyre!  Bonfyre is an app to create a targeted, event-based experience for users.  It's an experience network targeted to the friends and events you care about so you can filter all the other social media noise associated with other platforms.  We used the Bonfyre app during the St. Louis VIP Getaway trip and it was amazing.  All of the bloggers and sponsors could meet each other beforehand, share information and post pictures.  Read more about the app on their website!

Brooklyn Bridge Stripes

Happy Monday!!  I'm back from a whirlwind trip to St. Louis for St. Louis Fashion Week and let me tell you, it was a blast!  I'm pretty much bursting at the seams with outfits to share and information from all the sponsors.  Talk about brain overload.  I'll be slowly leaking details and outfits over the next couple of weeks and I'll try not to make you wait too long buuuut you should be excited.   And patient.  Really patient ;).  Lots of cool things going on!

This outfit is from my Brooklyn adventures with Jen a couple weekends ago (remember that Jane's Carousel post?).  We hit the bridge right after sunset and snapped these pictures.  Talk about making it by the skin of your teeth!  Also, let's talk about the top bun...  I'm no Kimberly Pesch but I'm slowly trying to master my top bun skills.  What do you think?

Pops of Red and Florals

Happy Friday everyone!  As some of you read this I'll be on my way to St. Louis for the weekend for St. Louis Fashion Week!  I couldn't be more excited about how great this weekend is going to be.  Such a random adventure but I'm so ready!  Follow along on Instagram & Twitter to see all the action live!

If you read Wednesday's post, I showed you some of my favorite floral pants.  Today I'm styling my new floral pants from LuLu's!  I'm very picky when it comes to a lot of prints like animal print and florals and this pair was just the perfect print!  And trust me, I searched high and low.  I can't wait to style these for you more - I have a feeling they will be in heavy rotation all the way to Fall.
