The Right... Fall Layers

It's amazing how much mileage I've gotten out of this LOFT romper since I bought it.  I figured I'd wear it through September and the put it away until next spring but I've found myself reaching for it over and over and layering it multiple ways to continue to mix it up.  This was one of our first really cold days this fall and I definitely felt I had enough layers on (maybe should have been wearing pants vs tights but whatevs - I'm not quite ready to commit to that yet).  I will also definitely be wearing this with a turtleneck/cozy sweater over as another cold weather option.

And these booties?  Can we talk about them for a second?  I had yet to find a pair of ankle booties that didn't cut off my legs at a really awkward spot and these ones are perfect IMO!  They also have a bit of a western style to them which makes that west coast/country part of me really happy.

The Right... July 4th Look - City BBQ

Happy Monday friends!  I'm super excited about this week because I have a two day week and then I'm jetting off to my hometown for some family time, lake time, friend time and rodeo fun!  Stay tuned to instagram to follow along all the fun!

Then it's back for a day and then upstate to a lake house with some friends for the Fourth of July.  I have yet to spend a Fourth of July in the city and I can't say I'm too upset about it.  If I were staying in the city though, I'd imagine there would be some BBQ action followed by the fireworks.  Here's a little outfit inspo if that's what your Fourth of July looks like!  I'm keeping it fairly simple with a striped shirt, some great wedges and a flippy skirt (all in the red/white/blue theme of course).  Stay tuned for my lake outfit coming next week.

Top: Joe Fresh, Skirt: J. Crew (on sale!), Wedges: c/o Trask (similar here and here), Bag: vintage Dooney & Bourke (newer version here)

The Week: Fashion, Food and Fitness

 This week I...

Made it to the gym twice - I'm getting there!

Made this super delicious cauliflower sauce recipe from Pinch of Yum (I'm insisting you try it - it's such a great substitute for alfredo sauce!)

Stopped by the Trask and Johnston & Murphy press preview - they have a lot of great things in store for Fall! In case you didn't catch my post with Trask - check it out here!  These wedges will be in heavy rotation come spring!

Am debating trying this little DIY project - how cute is it?

Am currently scheming a savings plan for this beyond adorable swim suit - the pink and the scollops are just to.die.for.

Spent a solid hour on Tuesday night catching up on Suri's Burn Book - I normally don't keep up with celebrity gossip but I often forget how hilarious this thing is!

Discovered the coolest "color finder" website via one of my coworkers - check it out here!

Stumbled upon cute little prints by "imkellycummings" and love this one about "glorifying busy"

Also, I'm planning on attending the United Nude sample sale on April 8 - if you're in the area check it out - details here!

The Week: Fashion, Food, Fitness

Happy Saturday!!!  This week I...

Kicked off another East v. West style series - this week's theme was "varsity," did you catch it?

Drooled over this belt, these pumps and these Reva flats from the Tory Burch sale (hurry, ends Monday!)

Styled my new Trask wedges in my latest Spring Style post.

Finally broke down and bought these amaze balls gladiator sandals and can't wait to get them (I'm secretly fearful they won't fit my ridiculously large calves so I'll report back on that...).

I made this delish kale salad.  Just a heads  up it is a lot of prep work but totally worth it.  It's super light and refreshing and paired perfectly with my roasted chicken (I have to admit I nixed the beans).  And since I needed it to last all week I kept the dressing separate (I also separated the lemon juice from the apples before adding them to the salad) and then just added a couple of tbsp each day to avoid it turning into a soggy mess.  Let me know if you try it!

And sadly only made it to the gym twice.  I cannot get caught up on sleep from DLST and get my butt up in the morning!
_____

Anddd since I forgot to hit "publish" last weekend... Here are some highlights from the week before!

I stopped by the  Elaine Turner event and saw the super cute Spring/Summer collection!

I signed up to get emails from StyleUp - they send you daily outfit inspo based on the weather forecast for the next day!   Check it out here.

Spring Style: Sunday Funday

There's nothing quite like the feeling of a wide-open Sunday spent outdoors brunching, at the park, shopping or exploring.  Even though spring is typically warmer, you never know when it'll be time to still wear things that cover you up a bit while still feeling springy.  Spring is also my favorite time to bust out my white jeans and new wedges.

Speaking of new wedges, how gorg are these babies from Trask?  They are beyond well-made and super comfy and will take me all the way to fall (aka you'll be seeing them a.lot.).
