Casual Leather

If you tuned in on Wednesday you know I talked all about my favorite faux leather pants (and those with just faux leather details!).  Also last week I showed you what I wore on New Year's Eve.  Since I don't have a reason to get that dressed up all the time, I wanted to show you how I styled them for a more casual setting.  The t-shirt is the most casual element iof the outfit while the blazer keeps it looking polished.  Add a few accessories like the scarf and bracelet so you don't look too plain Jane in black & white.

Holiday Party Attire Pt. 1

I've decided to do a little series and give you all some holiday party outfit ideas!  Check in on Tuesdays/Thursdays (with the exception of this coming Thursday, interrupted by my Thanksgiving post) for the next three weeks for some outfit inspo!

This first post I focused on the amazing tulle skirt from Anthropologie.  With the blazer on top you can mix and match the blouse underneath and pair heels to match.  What would you pair with this skirt?

Will Work for Clothes

Happy Friday everyone!!!  Part of this post is to fill you in on my life as of late and give you an outfit!!  So, I'm no longer interning at StyleSight, which is ok, it was such an amazing opportunity and I was able to experience my first fashion shows, which was awesome.  I also learned about trend forecasting and reporting and learned that I don't love that side of the business.  That's what this is all about right?  Learning what I like or don't like, what motivates me every day and all the aspects of the business.

This brings me to my newest adventure/opportunity!  I've been interning at the Lily Kate Showroom for the past two weeks!  They sell the following lines: Parker, Townsen, Young Fabulous and Broke, Karina Grimaldi and Add.  I'm doing general assistant stuff: helping with appointments, filing, steaming and merchandising the clothing, etc.  And of course with most cases, interning = no pay.  However!  They let me pick out some clothes every now and then!  I've been extremely fortunate to add some amazing Parker digs to my wardrobe with this internship.  Which leads me to my outfit...!

First Thing...

So I've officially arrived in NYC!  Everyone kept asking me, "What's the first thing you want to do when you get to New York?"  My response "well, I'd really like to have had a job interview set up." but that's still in the works so it had me thinking...  What do I want to do??  I know that I really want to check out the High Line and walk the Brooklyn Bridge and do some shopping and eat macaroons from Laduree but in all reality I'll probably spend the day at a coffee shop putting in job apps :).  Responsibility is of the utmost importance here - I'm not on vacation anymore!  However...  If I were to maybe squeeze in some shopping on my first day (I have been on a spending freeze for the past 6ish weeks), I'd really like to buy the following:

A simple black blazer (my other one was just worn out and didn't fit right!)

Zara

And some new black pumps (both of my other pairs were really really worn out - no bueno for NYC!)

Vince Camuto
And who knows, maybe I'll finally make it to check out the fab and affordable Joe Fresh (I've only been dying over this store since my post about it in November)!
