I definitely love entertaining, especially during the holidays, but I have to admit that I haven't done much of it since moving to NYC.  The space makes it challenging and the hectic schedule also makes it challenging so today I had to pretend a little.  Luckily I feel like a "holiday hostess" outfit can also double as a "holiday guest" outfit so you're also seeing the outfit I wore at Jackie's holiday party. Oh and before I forget, let's take a moment to recognize this leather jacket and these pumps.  It's really awesome getting to work with amazing brands on this blog and getting to add quality items to my closet.  I think it's safe to say I have two new obsessions! East vs. West: Holiday Shopping

I'm super excited about today's post because as much as I love getting all dressed up for the holidays, a casual outfit here and there is nice.  And I feel like we can't forget about holiday shopping because that's definitely one of the most important things to do this month.  I've found that running around in easy layers like a scarf, sweater dress, tights and boots makes it a) comfortable for shopping and b) easy to go from outside to inside (although sometimes I still struggle with the extreme temperature changes when walking indoors or outdoors).  What's your go-to holiday shopping look?  Be sure to check out how everyone else styled their looks!

Can we pause for a second and talk about these boots?  They're by Duo and they're super awesome because you pick your size AND your calf size.  Talk about a win-win for everyone (again, I've got some huge hams back there so I'm always on the hunt for stylish solutions to the problem!).

East vs. West: Holiday Party

It's officially that time of year - the holiday season!  I love a good party and especially a party that requires getting all dressed up!  I realized I'm channeling a more minimalist vibe when planning this season's outfits - a little less glitter and a little more subtle sparkle.  Like in today's outfit with the studded dress sleeves and silver pumps.     I hope you enjoy this latest installment of East vs. West - we're bringing you 4 holiday looks (and one is a little more casual!  Stay tuned for that) over the next 4 weeks.  I hope you'll check out everyone's posts below - can't wait to hear what you're wearing to your next holiday party!

And can we talk about these tights for a second?  They are absolutely amazing - they have a really thick waist band which helps them stay up all day and the color/weight is perfect!  I haven't thought about buying Hanes tights in years and I'm so glad I was able to try these out this season!
