NYC#3 - Brunch and Random Adventures

On Saturday of the trip we woke up to a chilly, drizzly day.

View from the apartment window
We went to brunch at Essex in the Lower East Side.  Yes, I know, we brunched on a Saturday not a Sunday but one of our friends had the day off so it just fit better.  They have this amazing brunch deal, $23 for a meal + three beverages (bloody mary, screwdriver or mimosa).  Oh and did I mention that the server was awesome?  She so kindly filled our mimosas when they reached the halfway point (and that only counted as one drink).

Eggs Benedict - I highly recommend this!

Cool window and decor/baseballs rolling down the walls

After brunch we wandered to the Chelsea Market and checked out the Meatpacking District.  This is one of my favorite areas of NYC.  So clean, fairly quiet and it's where a lot of designers have their studios and boutiques (ahem.  DVF, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, Theory...).  It's also the area of town where we went out the last time I was in the city.

DVF!

For some reason I liked the stools at Brass Monkey....

Pit stop at the Brass Monkey

Chips & Guac and Irish Coffee

Love the cobblestone streets and architecture

I love old buildings next to new ones

We topped the day off with some New York pizza (I didn't have any the last time I was there) in Brooklyn and then ventured to some of the bars in the East Village (Solas, Summit, and Penny Farthing).
